Fellow aspiring writers for 23 April 2013

Remaining in the realm of Science Fiction, I walk along the path designated by the WordPress Reader’s Topics search.  Scrolling down a handful of times has yielded some interesting results, with authors I believe you should investigate.

1)            Anneque G. Malchien

Ms Malchien does not need to aspire.  She is a published author!  A hearty congratulations for the publishing of The Fallouts.

Today Anneque posted the first instalment of an ongoing serial story, entitled Interdimensional Detective Agency.  A fellow named Henry seems to feel like a failure at life, and makes a sudden decision that will change his situation dramatically.  Head on over and have a read!

2)            Musings of a Madwoman

Cheri Endsley resides at this website.  The mad musings are always the most enjoyable =)

I was drawn to investigate by a heartening photo.  It shows some Syrian residents, with the evidence of the fighting in their background, expressing their condolences to those in Boston.  Immediately underneath that, a picture shows some Bostonians expressing their own well-wishes to the Syrians.  It is proof that humanity, even in the middle of terrible conflicts, can still find a way to have concern for their fellows.  Heartening indeed =)

Furthermore, Ms Endsley also happens to be a science fiction writer.  She has posted an excerpt of a story she is shopping around, entitled Decker.  The excerpt is tantalising =)

3)            Man-Made Murphy

This site is contributed to by the witty and interesting trio of Ethan, Ferne and Jamala.  Despite his modesty, Ethan is better looking than me.  Jamala shows us all the awesome places she has been, and Ferne amazes us with the outfits she knits for her young’un.

Upon this site is a graphic novel entitled Khaos, which was Ethan’s first paying job.  A centaur fox named Khaos is a space captain who we meet at a carnival.  There are a further fourteen pages of awesomeness, so be sure to have a look.

Ethan was commissioned for issue 2 of this story.  Part 1 can be found here.

Tomorrow, head on back for the latest instalment of ‘Sayeh and Zia’.  The large troupe of merchants are headed back to Alexandria, with Zia accompanying her husband-to-be.  What awaits the intrepid travellers as they trek across the Arabian Desert?  Will there be sandstorms? Stealing? Shenanigans?  You can only find out by being awesome and checking here tomorrow =)

    1. You are most welcome. All good stories deserve some recognition =)

Thank you for reading my works. I welcome thoughts and constructive criticism. ‘Mune and Mura’ was my first proper short story, so I’m sure there’s plenty to still to be learnt =)
