Reading Status for 29 November 2013

Hooray for round numbers!  ‘Empire of Silver’ marks the 30th book I’ve read this year.  Something to feel accomplished about =)

‘Russka’ is a true tome, clocking in at just over 1000 pages.  But I have motivation to get through it quickly.  The uber-talented Christine Haggerty is having the first book in her ‘Plague Legacy’ trilogy released very soon, and I am lucky enough to be on the advance copy receiving list.  Can’t wait =)

Well done! Thirty books for the year is a great achievement – reckon you’ll have time for two or three more?

    1. Maybe two. I hope to finish ‘Russka’ (a bit of a slog to read) and round out the year with ‘Acquisitions’. That way, two years in a row I will welcome in the new year with a Drizzt Do’Urden novel =)

        Nice. A Drizzzzt Do…?

      2. As per Wikipedia:

‘Drizzt Do’Urden is a fictional character in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting for the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game. Drizzt was created by author R. A. Salvatore as a supporting character in the Icewind Dale Trilogy. Salvatore created him on a whim when his publisher needed to replace another character in Salvatore’s first novel, The Crystal Shard. Drizzt has since become a popular heroic character of the Forgotten Realms setting, and has been featured as the main character of a long series of books, starting chronologically with The Dark Elf Trilogy. As an atypical drow (dark elf), Drizzt has forsaken both the evil ways of his people and their home in the Underdark, in the drow city of Menzoberranzan.’

‘The Legend of Drizzt’ is a 13-book series, with the next one I am to read Book 12 in the series. Very good books, if you love the fantasy genre =)
