Monday NFL plus Poll!

Wow, wasn’t the weekend of ‘Wild Card’ football games amazing?  Three second-half comebacks, two travelling teams winning with the last kick of the game, two multi-decade playoff  losing streaks continued, and one record chasedown.

Next week will find it hard to top it, I reckon.

The NFC side of the coin has the 49er’s crossing the country to take on my boys the Panthers.  San Fran earned my respect for winning in that nasty Wisconsin weather, and look like they’ll push Carolina hard in less frigid conditions.  Backing the Panthers for the win.

N’awlins looks to continue defying their losing streak on the road, stepping up to conference top seed the Seattle Seahawks.  To the Saints’ benefit, the cold snap will not be in full force, staying in the 40’s.  They lost decisively in Seattle six weeks ago, putting the Seahawks ahead 7-6 in the historical head-to-head.  Picking the Seahawks.

In the AFC, comeback kings the Indianapolis Colts will face off against the New England Patriots.  NE finished with one more win in the regular season, but did not face Indianapolis in those sixteen games.  Only on the basis of their amazing second half surge, I hope that the Colts win, but it will be a close one methinks.

The last game will be the San Diego Chargers heading north to challenge the Denver Broncos.  The latter team gets a mention in my new story, but since the northern US is represented with my Seattle and New England picks, I will pick San Diego to upset the hometown horses.

Going forward story posts are planned for twice a week; Saturdays and Tuesdays.

Saturday’s post was the latest in ‘Sayeh and Zia’, the story I started way back in February last year.  There are eight portions of the story remaining (6 scenes, 1 intermission, 1 epilogue).

Mentioned back in October, and one of my new year resolutions, I have been researching for a new story.  It is part historical fiction, part science fiction.  Chapter 1 Scene 1 is tentatively planned for tomorrow night.

What say you, readers?  Finish a story well overdue, or branch out with a new tale?  There is already one vote for the former by the Good Doctor.  Exercise your democracy and vote in the comments =)

Have a good day y’all!

  1. I have watched the film The Replacements so now feel suitably knowledgeable abiut this game which you speak of.

    1. I can hardly claim full knowledge of the game; just enough to enjoy the game for what it is. It is interesting to compare it to its spiritual predecessor, Rugby, and see the differences and similarities =)
